Snelgroeiende bevolking <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">India heeft de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/263766\/total-population-of-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">een na grootste<\/a> wereldbevolking (geschat op 1,42 miljard voor 2023), maar zal naar verwachting het top-China inhalen. Momenteel is India goed voor 17% van de wereldbevolking en <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.in\/assets\/pdfs\/publications\/2017\/the-promise-of-indian-retail-from-vision-to-execution.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3%<\/a> van de wereldwijde consumptie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2. Jonge bevolking<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Terwijl de rest van de wereld worstelt met de gevolgen van een vergrijzende bevolking, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.in\/assets\/pdfs\/publications\/2017\/the-promise-of-indian-retail-from-vision-to-execution.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">47%<\/a> van de bevolking van India is jonger dan 25 jaar. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/10\/10\/business\/global\/younger-indians-eager-to-embrace-foreign-big-box-stores-and-malls.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The New York Times<\/a> meldt dat de Indiase jeugd graag westerse merken omarmt, zoals Benetton&#039;s T-shirts, Domino&#039;s pizza en Cadbury&#039;s melkchocolade, evenals de winkelervaring die wordt geboden door winkelcentra in Amerikaanse stijl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jonge consumenten zijn <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.kpmg\/content\/dam\/kpmg\/pdf\/2014\/11\/BBG-Retail.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">verkoop stimuleren<\/a> in mode, eten en drinken, snelle restaurants en mobiele telefoons. Deze consumenten zijn bereid om te experimenteren en nieuwe merken te adopteren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Groeiend inkomen per hoofd van de bevolking<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inkomen per hoofd van de bevolking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.india-briefing.com\/news\/indias-per-capita-income-doubles-since-2014-15-but-wealth-unevenly-spread-27325.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">verdubbeld <\/a>van $1053 USD in 2014 tot $2.091 USD in 2022. Consumenten hebben nu meer besteedbaar inkomen. Er is een groeiende trend onder Indiase consumenten om merkproducten te kopen, evenals goederen en diensten gericht op gemak en gezonder leven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het is belangrijk om te onthouden dat gemiddelden niet het hele verhaal vertellen, aangezien er vandaag de dag nog steeds aanzienlijke ongelijkheid bestaat in de verdeling van rijkdom in India. In werkelijkheid is slechts ongeveer 6% van de bevolking een doelmarkt voor grote retailers die het Indiase retaillandschap willen betreden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toch vertegenwoordigt 6% van de enorme bevolking van India ongeveer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imrg.org\/india-demographics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">80 miljoen<\/a> mensen, of ruwweg de hele bevolking van Duitsland en meer dan Frankrijk, Engeland, Itali\u00eb of Spanje. De Indiase markt kan niet worden genegeerd door retailers of marketeers.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bindy.com\/industries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"attachment noopener wp-att-12561\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.bindy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/india_works_here_800.png?w=700&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12561\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>4. Veranderingen in de huishoudstructuur <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kerngezinnen zijn toegenomen met <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.in\/assets\/pdfs\/publications\/2017\/the-promise-of-indian-retail-from-vision-to-execution.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">13%<\/a> in de afgelopen twee decennia tot 70% van alle Indiase huishoudens. Kerngezinnen hebben de neiging 20-30% meer uit te geven dan gezamenlijke gezinnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bovendien, naarmate meer vrouwen deelnemen aan het personeelsbestand, is er nieuwe vraag naar diensten die de consument helpen die het druk heeft en weinig tijd heeft. Deze trend zal naar verwachting alleen maar doorzetten. Het World Economic Forum meldt dat 82% van de vrouwelijke respondenten van een recent onderzoek zei dat hun ideale baan zou zijn: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/agenda\/2018\/10\/here-s-what-young-indians-really-want-from-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">full time<\/a> buiten het huis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5. Urbanisatie<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">tegen 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/featured-insights\/urbanization\/comparing-urbanization-in-china-and-india\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">38%<\/a> van de Indiase bevolking zal in de steden wonen. Het Indiase BBP per hoofd van de bevolking heeft een verwachte groei van 6% tussen 2005 en 2025. Dit betekent dat het aantal stedelijke huishoudens met een re\u00eble discretionaire koopkracht kan oplopen tot zevenmaal tot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/featured-insights\/urbanization\/indias-urbanization-a-closer-look\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">89<\/a> miljoen huishoudens tegen 2025. Dit betekent ook dat er een enorme vraag zal zijn om de stedelijke infrastructuur van India te verbeteren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong style=\"color: var(--color-text);\">Retaillandschap<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De jonge bevolking van India, de toenemende verstedelijking en het stijgende inkomen zorgen ervoor dat de winkelmarkt naar verwachting zal groeien met <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equitymaster.com\/research-it\/sector-info\/retail\/Retailing-Sector-Analysis-Report.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">12%<\/a> jaar na jaar en volgend jaar meer dan $1,1 biljoen USD. Straatstands en kleine winkels die eigendom zijn van een enkele persoon of familie omvatten 90-93% van de markt. Ter vergelijking: in meer volwassen economie\u00ebn is de georganiseerde detailhandel goed voor ongeveer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equitymaster.com\/research-it\/sector-info\/retail\/Retailing-Sector-Analysis-Report.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">80%<\/a> van alle detailhandel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het is echter belangrijk op te merken dat, aangezien de detailhandel in het algemeen groeit (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.equitymaster.com\/research-it\/sector-info\/retail\/Retailing-Sector-Analysis-Report.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">12%<\/a> per jaar) in India. Georganiseerde detailhandel groeit momenteel bij <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imrg.org\/india-retail-landscape\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">twee keer zo snel<\/a> van ongeorganiseerde detailhandel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Houd er rekening mee dat voordat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imrg.org\/india-retail-landscape\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2012, <\/a>buitenlandse investeringen in multi-brand retailers waren niet toegestaan. Nieuwe investeringen door buitenlandse merken blijven de overgang naar georganiseerde detailhandel stimuleren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Per categorie, eten en boodschappen make-up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imrg.org\/india-retail-landscape\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">60%<\/a> van de retailmarkt in India. Andere prominente categorie\u00ebn zijn consumentenelektronica bij 10% en kleding bij 8%. Terwijl kleding goed is voor ongeveer <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Retailing_in_India\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10%<\/a> van zijn BBP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indiase consumenten worden zich steeds meer bewust van wereldwijde normen en westerse media. Er is een gestage trend onder consumenten om \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.in\/assets\/pdfs\/publications\/2017\/the-promise-of-indian-retail-from-vision-to-execution.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">uptrade<\/a>\u201d naar merkproducten, zoeken naar producten van betere kwaliteit en betalen voor service en gemak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toenemende digitale penetratie is mede verantwoordelijk voor de verschuiving naar georganiseerde detailhandel en de vraag naar merkartikelen. In 2017 vertoonde India een internetpenetratie van 37% en in 2018, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/257048\/smartphone-user-penetration-in-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">26%<\/a> van de bevolking gebruikt een smartphone. Fysieke detailhandel is springlevend en zelfs met de verwachte groei van e-commerce (zie hieronder), loopt fysieke detailhandel geen gevaar om ergens op het subcontinent te komen, maar blijft het een aanvulling en <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.bindy.com\/nl\/de-retail-apocalyps-die-niet-brick-and-mortar-is-bloeiend\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">verkoop stimuleren<\/a> voor online detailhandel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indiase consumenten willen de mogelijkheid hebben om een product aan te raken en te voelen. Zelfs met meer digitale toegang, alleen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/amazon-makes-brick-and-mortar-play-in-india-2019-8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">25%<\/a> van de internetgebruikers heeft in 2018 een online aankoop gedaan. Ze willen ook graag weten dat ze een kwaliteitsproduct kopen. Flipkart exploiteert zowel Jabong als Myntra. Deze marktplaatsen zijn gericht op jongere, rijkere, merkbewuste consumenten. Internationale modemerken gebruiken marktplaatsen als hun primaire route naar India, en de omzetgroei is enorm. Andere populaire buitenlandse CPG-bedrijven zijn Nestle (zuivel- en instantnoedels), Procter &amp; Gamble (Gillette en Tide) en Colgate-Palmolive (tandverzorging en vochtinbrengende cr\u00e8me).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CPG-bedrijven die India willen binnendringen, moeten dat weten <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euromonitor.com\/health-and-wellness-in-india\/report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gezondheid en welzijn<\/a> wordt een grote trend. Recente beleidswijzigingen hebben een aantal van de beleggingsbeperkingen versoepeld. Bijvoorbeeld, in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.in\/assets\/pdfs\/industries\/retail-and-consumer\/retail-report-300812.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2012<\/a> de regering versoepelde het beleid inzake de detailhandel met \u00e9\u00e9n merk om de FDI-limiet te verhogen van 51% naar 100% (onder bepaalde voorwaarden).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Infrastructuur<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gebrek aan beschikbaar onroerend goed in grote steden, opslagfaciliteiten en een degelijke transportinfrastructuur blijven een probleem. Retailers die het moeilijk hebben, zijn degenen die de infrastructuuruitdagingen niet goed hebben gepland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uit een onderzoek van PwC India&#039;s Retail and Consumer-praktijk in 2017 bleek bijvoorbeeld dat: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pwc.in\/assets\/pdfs\/publications\/2017\/the-promise-of-indian-retail-from-vision-to-execution.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">75%<\/a> van de retailers vond dat hun groei werd beperkt door een gebrek aan beschikbare ruimte of een slechte kwaliteit van de ruimte. Anderen hadden geen rekening gehouden met de kosten om een geografisch verspreide bevolking te bereiken, aangezien de distributiestructuur op pan-Indiaans niveau gefragmenteerd is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">India is van plan om te investeren <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-india-politics\/india-plans-to-invest-1-39-trillion-in-infrastructure-to-spur-economy-idUSKBN1Y50TN\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$1,39 biljoen<\/a> USD aan infrastructuurprojecten in de komende vijf jaar. Japan is een doorlopend actieve investeerder in de noordoostelijke staten van India met projecten voor wegen, elektriciteit, watervoorziening en biodiversiteit. Om de aanleg van snelwegen en luchthavens te versnellen, plant de regering: <a href=\"https:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/news\/economy\/infrastructure\/inside-modis-game-plan-to-bring-in-investment-for-infrastructure\/articleshow\/70208190.cms?from=mdr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">huren<\/a> grote projecten aan particuliere bedrijven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een van de meest ambitieuze projecten is de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.webuildvalue.com\/en\/infrastructures\/a-corridor-between-delhi-and-mumbai-that-makes-india-dream.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Delhi Mumbai Industri\u00eble Gang<\/a>.
